WELCOME

You have entered the world of kiawahchats, a very loosely structured place indeed. If you have an interest in Kiawah Island or cats...or nature, pancakes, tennis, or life in general...you may find this a place of interest. It's easier to tell you what we're NOT than what we ARE. We are NOT an "official" site of any kind or attached to or supported by any Kiawah entity or organization.

You will NOT find official minutes or meeting reports or announcements on this site--except as they might tweak our fancy, or we might tweak theirs!

You probably won't find a message board or public forum at this site, although we love to hear from you and you never know what we might pass along to others or request of you.

You will NOT find evenhanded discussion of island politics. In fact, unless we can find a lighter side to an issue, you will probably have to really search to find issue-related material here. And, of course, we decide what the lighter side IS.

What you ARE likely to find is a website that changes often--in appearance and content. (Didn't you have a doll house or fort as a child? More than half the fun of playing with it was rearranging the furniture or trees and teepees and fences. Same thing here, just a different toy!) You will find mostly pictures and comments about the things we find best about Kiawah and life here--and for us, that includes cats and, occasionally, their canine brethren. You are even likely to find recipes from He Who Must Play Tennis' pancake collection and an occasional joke (read at your own risk!).

We hope that kiawahchats will be a place where you stop in for a visit often, just to escape for a minute all the things in the world that call us to be responsible adults most of the time. Sit back, check to see what's doing on the back porch, look at some pretty pictures and enjoy a Kiawah moment.

Can't you almost hear the breeze in the palmettos?
